We are currently hiring for a Project Manager Injection Molding who:
Demonstrates a strong business partner approach and attitude providing creative and innovative solutions
Manages engineering projects with an emphasis on flawless launch of new products and processes.
Ensures production processes are properly qualified with regards to manufacturing quality, efficiency and cost targets.
Thrives in a fast paced, cutting-edge, lean systems environment, where priorities can often change on a daily basis.
Basic Responsibilities
Conduct engineering projects of moderate scope, occasionally involving the coordination of technical activities of other professionals. This will include the improvement of existing plastics and liquid silicone rubber (LSR) molding processes and the design and development of new and advanced manufacturing processes for injection molding and/or extrusion.
Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses and document all necessary acceptance and implementation procedures.
Developing robust production process, training and documentation with proper documentation and tracking for any activities of the project.
Generate finalized engineering product drawings with critical dimensions, performance specifications, and quality specifications (standards and test procedures)
Provides tooling design improvement recommendations and participates in tool design reviews.
Generates final engineering product drawings with critical dimensions, performance specifications, and quality specifications (standards and test procedures).
Ensures that new products function properly and meet both part specifications and timing objectives.
Provides technical support in solving product quality problems with existing products.
Provide customer service regarding engineering projects generate quotations for engineering activities
Provide technical input for cost estimating.
Provide ongoing reports to department manager and customer contacts regarding project progress and project status
Directs project team and activities to implement new products, improve production techniques and develop test procedures
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a related technical field such as Mechanical, Chemical, Plastics or Medical Engineering.
4-5 years of experience as project, process, or tooling engineer in custom manufacturing, with injection molding equipment, processes and tooling experience.
Technical knowledge of thermoplastic and/or LSR injection molding.
Practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Knowledge of ISO-13485 and FDA CFR Title 21, Section 820, or the demonstrated ability to learn.
Strong knowledge of scientific injection molding process development, part design, mold setup and start up process, selecting proper injection molding and auxiliary equipment for a specific mold.
Strong knowledge of injection molds/tooling and plastics.
Knowledge of Solidworks and/or AutoCAD with functional knowledge of Microsoft Project.
Knowledge of performing MSA, DOE (design of experiments) and Capability analysis using Minitab.
Knowledge of FMEAs, Process Validation (IQ, OQ and PQ) and SPC.
Knowledge of use of cavity pressure sensors (RJG or Priamus).
Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
Must have strong technical communication skills (which include mold design, processing and part design recommendations).
Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Well Organized, accurate and attention to detail.
Judgment and Decision Making -Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
Trustworthy, discrete and a high degree of personal integrity to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
Ability to communicate effectively (written & spoken) as required for job related communication throughout the organization.
Project management skills along with an ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team.
Effective planning/organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities.
Preferred
Qualifications:
PMP Certification in Project Management and APICS certification
Experience with automated equipment/machinery
