THE MAINTENANCE, REPAIR and OVERHAUL DIVISION (MRO):
The AMETEK MRO Division manufactures and provides repair and overhaul services for commercial transport, regional aircraft, business jets, military aircraft and military vehicles, and also serves both the airframe and engine component manufacturers and aftermarket industry segments.
The MRO Division is a part of the Electronic Instruments Operating Group. The division's current operating facilities exist in Holbrook, New York; St. Louis, Missouri; Baldwin Park California; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Wichita, Kansas; Miami Florida; and internationally in Singapore, France and The United Kingdom.
The AMETEK Ameron business develops safety equipment and product support resource services for the aviation industry. The division manufactures and repairs (overhauls) fire extinguishers, oxygen tanks, cartridges, discs, fittings, gauges and oxygen crew masks for commercial and private aircraft. With FAA-145 repair facilities in Holbrook, New York, St. Louis, Missouri, and Baldwin Park, California - our operations cover all major regions.
POSITION SUMMARY
Ametek Ameron is looking for a strong Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Engineering Team in Baldwin Park, CA. This individual will direct, coordinate and exercise functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering project within area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Position Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Produce 2D CAD & 3D model/layout drawings using Autodesk Inventor, modify or import old Mechanical Desktop drawings (legacy).
Mechanical ability required to understand the function and intent of various design changes.
Perform drawing checks and update drawings for revised submittals.
Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.
Exercises role and projects as required to meet department activities related to designing new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, develop manufacturing and test procedures as wells as any supporting documentation.
This person should be considered as an expert in taking FAA-PMA programs from concept to manufacturing.
Shall provide technical support on FAA-PMA programs, guidance and direction to issues arising from matters related to engineering, contracts, manufacturing, production and quality assurance.
Coordinate FAA activities.
Plans and implements engineering program, including defining the project philosophy, activities, milestones, and customer requirements. Develops and maintains a schedule for the assigned engineering project. Provides reports on the status of project milestones.
Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables and design documents.
Oversees project specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems. Directs integration of technical activities and products.
Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
Prepares interim and completion project reports. Interfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met. Provides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management.

Education
Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) degree of higher from a four year college and/or university in the field of Engineering.
Experience

years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms and quadratic equations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information, collect and research data
Ability to design work flows and procedures
Extensive experience with developing project plans, coordinating projects, communicating changes and progress, completing projects on time and budget, managing project team activities
Advanced written and oral communications skills
Advanced level of proficiency in AutoCad Inventor a plus or similar systems, LabView a plus, MathCAD, MS Project, MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
