Director, Area Supply Chain

Description: The site Supply Chain department ensures that all medical & non-medical supplies & services critical to the delivery of care to our members are procured & managed in the most effective & efficient manner possible. The ASCPL has significant autonomy in decision-making & will be accountable for leading the planning & making the decisions regarding complex issues that have an impact on multiple recipients across their medical center areas. These decisions could relate to staffing, compliance, budgets, supply/service spend, service delivery, logistics, planning or many other issues. This position is responsible for leading the planning, development & implementation of area medical center strategic initiatives in Supply Chain Operations including quality, utilization, finance, day-to-day operations, service & human resource management. It ensures compliance w/ established regional & national goals & standards. Additionally, this position acts as the key leader & driver of change management across the sites (including represented & non-represented populations, clinicians & physicians, & other administrative personnel) in the adoption & institutionalization of Supply Chain Transformation Initiatives. To be successful in this position, the Practice leader must be able to lead & manage professionals & others through influence & collaboration across multiple teams or sites. A demonstrated proficiency in team building & motivation, conflict resolution, & group dynamics as well as solid project management skills is essential. Also, this person must have a demonstrated ability to utilize effective verbal & written communication skills w/ various levels across an organization as well as across diverse populations including represented & non-represented teams. Essential Functions: - Provides on-going leadership & direction to enhance member service through the availability of needed products & services. - Ensures products & services are high quality, cost effective, w/ high service availability. - Achieves a high level of compliance regarding Kaiser Permanente's national standards for products/services. - Develops & drives the implementation & adoption of the Supply Chain Transformation Initiatives across the medical center(s) including all clinical areas (eg procedural & non-procedural) as well as those currently run/managed by the Med Group(s). - Builds & manages a distribution network, in conjunction w/ National Warehousing & Logistics, w/ the goal to minimize obsolescence or expiration, & high service levels. - Working in conjunction w/ nursing & other clinicians, assures the accuracy & effectiveness of case picking including procedure card pick list maintenance. - Develops & implements, in conjunction w/ Facilities Services & EH&S, an asset management strategy that delivers customer requirements, meets financial goals, & aligns w/ capital planning strategies. - Provides leadership on human resource management activities such as hiring, reward & recognition, performance review, professional development, succession planning, discipline. - Establishes & implements standards of performance relative to quality & service, & ensures standards exceed member, medical center & regulatory expectations. - Responsible for the development & implementation of all Medical Center supply chain operating & capital budgets. - Provides leadership & collaboration w/in & outside of supply chain operations w/ multiple levels & groups across the organization. - Provides clear & timely communication w/ Senior Site Leadership on the status of the department & status of key initiatives. - This job description is not all encompassing. Basic Qualifications: Experience - Minimum six (6) years of management experience, including managing/leading union represented staff, non union non-exempt and exempt employees. - Minimum three (3) of years budget development experience. - Minimum four (4) of years supply chain experience including purchasing, inventory management, distribution operations and procurement. - Minimum three (3) of years process improvement experience utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies or similar. - Minimum five (5) of years multiple corporate structures, entities and/or locations. - Minimum four (4) of years Project Management and/or Consulting level experience. - Minimum two (2) of years experience with federal, state and local regulations including Title 22, The Joint Commission,CMS or similar regulatory agencies. Education - Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, operations research, engineering, supply chain, economics or related field OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field. - High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration - N/A   Additional Requirements: - Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment. Preferred Qualifications: - Minimum three (3) of years working in a retail, manufacturing, or health care environment preferred. - Minimum three (3) of years experience in demand planning, SKU rationalization and standardization, GS1. - Current professional certification in Certified Logistics Management (CLM) or Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred. - Current Six Sigma certification preferred. - Master's degree in business administration, finance, operations research, engineering, materials management, economics preferred. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
